OSA Student Chapter of NUS is formed by the graduate students with the common interests in optics and photonic researches, which is supported by the Optical Society of America. It is devoted to promote the communication between the individual researchers, spark cooperation, and improve the knowledge and skills of each OSA student member in NUS. The activities that our Student chapter intend to realize are mainly networking events, lectures from our invited OSA fellow speakers, and technical workshops, which aims to keep our members close to the frontier of optics. Most of the needed resources to maintain this student chapter are provided by the OSA and one student is fully supported to attend the OSA annual conference every year. At the same time, we are exploring the opportunities to interact with other local academic organizations to provide our members with multi-disciplinary perspectives.
OSA NUS Student Chapter invited lecture series: Prof Federico Capasso, a prominent applied physicist and inventors of the quantum cascade laser from Havard University.
